"The Cascade Community Foundation has lent financial support to several community events including out annual 4th of July Celebration and the Metro Cruise Warm Up. These events provide great entertainment to all families of Cascade at no cost, and would not be possible without the generous support of the foundation."
Forest Hills Central High School
The grant we received helped provide funding for our 10 Central students who qualified for DECA Nationals in Atlanta, GA in April. They represented the entire Forest Hills Public School/Cascade community by competing in individual & team role plays and projects. Part of the trip included visits to the College Football Hall of Fame, World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, and the CNN Studios. These students were able to apply what they have learned in the classroom to real-life scenarios to better prepare them for life after high school and college. Many DECA students are employed throughout businesses in Cascade and Grand Rapids and they gain experience to assist them in becoming productive workers who contribute to our economy.

Mary Free Bed
"One of the most anticipated events of the year at Mary Free Bed is our Junior Wheelchair Sports Camp. Now in its 38th year, it is the only camp of its kind in the state that offers a life-changing experience for youth who are physically disabled and use or require a wheelchair to be successful in sports and recreation activities. In these times of divisiveness, exclusion, and bullying, it is important to find ways to help children already coping with mobility challenges feel a sense of normalcy. Jr. Wheelchair Sports Camp exists to provide recreation and competitive sports opportunities that children with physical disabilities are often denied. Throughout all the fun, this experience also enables our campers to stretch their comfort zones and grow in independence. A special thank you to the continued support of the Cascade Community Foundation. We appreciate you believing in Mary Free Bed Wheelchair and Adaptive Sports and providing the opportunity for 2 campers to attend the 2018 Jr. Wheelchair Sports Camp."
