2012 Claude & Marion Robinson Community Leader Award goes to Tom & Joyce Wisner!
The community leadership award is given to those people who demonstrate a willingness to lead through example and a commitment to improve the lives of their neighbors. These people embody the true meaning of citizenship.
Tom & Joyce Wisner are passionate about Cascade! During their 33 years of living on the shores of Quiggle Lake they have constantly demonstrated commitment and concern for their fellow citizens. The Wisners are part of the family that founded and operated auto parts manufacturer Lescoa, which employed over 2000 people locally. After selling the company in 1999, they dedicated themselves to improving and growing the greater Cascade Area. Their generosity can be seen everywhere- from the Wisner Center at the Cascade branch of the Kent District Library and the Wisner Pavilion at Tassell Park to the Circle of Friends statue that dances in front of the library and multiple education venues in the Greater Grand Rapids area. Their philanthropic efforts in support of the Cascade Community Foundation have proven over and over again their dedication to the area. The Cascade Community Foundation is proud to honor Tom and Joyce Wisner as our very first Community Award Recipients.
